Cain
There are various theories regarding the meaning of this statement, which is first seen in Scripture in Genesis 3:15. One of the most common the writers are aware of, is that Cain the brother of Abel, was Satan’s child by Eve; but Gen. 4:1 refutes that idea, and quickly lays it to rest. That idea may have originated because Cain was a “tiller of the ground” (Gen. 4:2), and that ground was “cursed” (Gen. 3:17); and therefore Cain’s offering to God was a product of the “curse”; and therefore of Satan; even though inadvertent in the case of Cain.
However, Cain killed his brother in rage and jealousy (Gen. 4:8), resulting in God placing a fresh curse on him because of that dire sin, which meant he would be destitute and a “fugitive and vagabond”. That left Cain in a state of despair, and fear for his life. However, God “set a mark on Cain” which was to deter would be assassins from killing him; which included a warning of God’s vengeance on such assassins, which would be multiplied “sevenfold”. Clearly, God had long range planning in place for the offspring of Cain, and it is interesting to note that Cain dwelt in “the land of Nod, on the east of Eden” (Gen. 4:16). Nod = “wandering” which = the land of the Nomads; tent dwellers have been, and still are prominent in that area.
Much comment has been made on the “mark of Cain” extending to books and films, with the human interpretation meaning he was “cursed with evil”; whereas the truth is he was given protection by God; but had as a human used his free-will to sin grievously by killing his brother Abel!
It is important to note that the proper translation of the Hebrew of verse 7 of Gen. 4 (according to Dr. Ginsburg and Dr. Bullinger in the Companion Bible ‘CB’, and Matthew Henry in the 15th Century), shows that a “male sin offering is in waiting”; giving hope of Salvation to Cain, and all mankind!
So, the theories regarding Cain being the physical seed of Satan do not stand up to Scriptural examination; however the following is more difficult to determine!
The Anti-Christ
Another widely held story regarding Satan’s procreative powers, is that he would impregnate a human woman, the child of which would eventually become the “Anti-Christ” of Scripture record and prophecy, (Dan. 8:23-25; 2Thess. 2:9; Rev. 11:7 & 17:8). As such, he would fulfil all the prophetic statements regarding his time on Earth as that personage described in Daniel 9:26, and many other places in Scripture; with only one eventual purpose; the destruction of Israel, and many Gentiles; for which he will be given great powers from his master, Satan; and the number of his name being “666”. The veracity of this theory has many interesting concepts giving it support; some of which are discussed below.
Fallen angels were used by Satan (Gen. 6:1-4), to produce Nephilim (see: Nephilim, who were they, and why?); whose purpose was to thwart the birth of Jesus by corruption of Eve’s seed (see: Ark of Noah); which was promised/prophesied by God in His statement to Satan, in Gen. 3:15:
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel”.
The question arises; why didn’t Satan impregnate human women himself, instead of using his servants? The answer lies (in the opinion of the writers), in the “rules of engagement” between God and Satan; which has governed the events between them since Satan’s rebellion in Ages past; see: Satan's Origins; & Satan's Contest with God.
Both sides in this huge conflict are obliged to obey the agreed rules; otherwise the opponent can plead ‘foul’, and the contest is over. The huge difference in the approach taken, is that God Almighty’s is based on Ultimate Love and that of Satan is based on evil, deceit, murder, lying, with all its deception and evil nature: see: Father of Lies, John 8:44.
The ultimate purpose of God the Father is for all Creation to see Satan as he is; and for God to win over humans and Heavenly creation by His benevolent approach to the challenge of Satan; and for his lies to be exposed!
In the Gen. 3:15 statement, the “seed of the woman” is known to be the mother of Jesus of Nazareth (Luke 1:26-35). There is not another event in Scripture, where Almighty God has so blessed a human woman; and this one event is probably the answer to the vexed question many ask regarding Satan’s seed!
As Satan has to bring forward his champion called in Scripture “Anti-Christ”; who will be empowered by Satan to perform miracles in similar mode to Jesus when He was on Earth during His First Advent. It then follows that Satan will be allowed to produce his own male child, as the “anti” (Greek= opposite/against/hostile) of Jesus’ conception; but not by “overshadowing” (Luke 1:35), as only God can create; but by procreation (once only in “anti”; to God’s Holy Spirit action with Mary)! It follows that as his angels could/can procreate by free-will, so can he by his free-will; and this would be his only chance to outwit by force and persuasion humans and Heaven’s creation to his side during “the last days”; depicted in Daniel, Revelation and other of the prophets in the Bible.
At that time, the Anti-Christ will be seen by the foolish and gullible on Earth to be The Christ of God by Christendom, the Messiah of the Jews by Israel, the “Hidden Imam” by Islam; and the Maitreya of the New Age Movement; and probably other “deities” of other false religions; as they are all gathered together under Satan’s Anti-Christ persona! With these roles to fulfil, it is easy to see why he would need the empowerment of Satan, who is easily able to give what the majority of humans admire, and look for in their lives.
From the above, and the need for “miraculous” powers and charisma, it is easy to understand the need for “Satan’s messiah” to be a hybrid entity; comprising the seed of a woman, and Satan’s fertilisation; to try to emulate the Messiah of Almighty God; and to attempt to topple the firm statement of God in Gen. 3:15!
That has been Satan’s motivation from the beginning of his rebellion against God, and it has yet to reach its climax in the theatre of war, in the battle of Armageddon, see: Rev Chapter 16 in Israel! The location of “Armageddon” is in dispute; some say next to “Megiddo” in northern Israel; others that it is Jerusalem!
The choice of the human
It is clear from the Bible that Heaven’s occupants have had to make a choice between God and Satan; and that 33% of angelic creation have decided to follow Satan! That 33% is almost certainly a very large number, which probably dwarfs the human population of Earth. The very interesting point is that Heaven’s angelic creation knows that God and Satan exist, but still in large numbers choose Satan!?
On Earth; especially since the Churches have lost considerable power over people, and also especially since the introduction of the theory of Evolution, the populations of Earth have developed into a state of “euphoric denial” of God’s existence. The situation is made worse by the excesses of Church organisations and their leaders; who do not teach what the Bible makes clear especially Acts 4:12, and have developed in many cases into “social gatherings”, and “good works” organisations, which in themselves are laudable; but should follow on from correct teaching! The state of Bible teaching now has comparison with the false and corrupt teaching of the Pharisees which prevailed prior to our Lord’s First Advent; and which led to His condemnation of the Jewish leaders: see: Jewish Scriptures: and Father of Lies, John 8:44.
Another definition of the “Seed of Satan” is that which Jesus applied to the Scribes and Pharisees, when they attended His teaching at various times during His Ministry. (Luke 11:37-54; 20:45-47; Matt. 23:1-39 & Mark 12:35-40). His particularly strong and definitive definition is Matt. 23:33, where He defines them as “vipers” and “serpents”; which in Scripture is only used of Satan, and his people! (See: Satan's People:).
Clearly, the leaders and teachers of Israel were/ are defined as Satan’s servants; and as the current leaders of Orthodox Jewry are still teaching the same as those of Jesus’ day; they are considered the same as their forebears, the Pharisees. This is the reason that they still cannot accept Messiah Christ Jesus for who He was/is; because the corruption of their Torah accelerated after the death of Ezra and Nehemiah, and the Christology was removed from their documents; as Pharisaic/Orthodox Judaism, will not admit to a “supernatural Messiah”!
It seems certain that the seed line of the Levitical priesthood was corrupted by Nephilim, when they intermarried with the forbidden Tribes, after they split their people between Samaria, Elephantine, and Trans-Jordon, with separate Temples of worship etc. see: Changes Made To The Old Testament & Corruption of the Bible Text:
The warnings that apply to the false teachers and false prophets of Israel, (Ezek. 13:9; Jer. 23:16; 1Peter 1:12-21; 2Peter 2:1-3; 3:14-18; Luke 6:26; Matt. 24:24;16:11-12; 7:15-20; 23:1-29; 2Tim. 4:3-4; Acts 20:28-30 & 1John 4:1-6); undoubtedly apply to the current and past teachers and controllers of Christendom, who are not teaching the Truths of Scripture; especially Acts 4:12, (neither is there Salvation in any other; for there is none other Name under Heaven given amongst men whereby we may be Saved), and that Name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
As the critical time approaches of Christ’s Second Advent, those that doubt Who He Is, will be considered as seed of Satan; and “will die in their sins” (John 8:24).
The choice is unambiguous; but the world is now so under the control of Satan (see: Mystery Babylon: ), that many people are blind to the truth, and many have given their free-will to him in many areas of their lives.
The choice however is straight forward, the same as when Elijah battled with the prophets of Baal (Satan); and the call was made by Elijah; “If the Lord be God, follow Him” (1Kings 18:21).
Similarly, Moses in Exodus 32:26, called to the sinning Israelites, "Who is on the Lord’s side? Let him come unto Me”.
The same applies today, on a much bigger scale; the choice is every person’s, by their free-will! Do we want to be sons of God in Christ Jesus; (Gal. 3:26) see: "Sonship" in the New Testament ; or sons of Satan, and inevitable doom!? See: Ultimate Love.
