Question: What do historians say about the accuracy of the Bible as a historical document? Why is this topic important?
In my experience, most Academics do not accept the Word of God, the Bible, as Divinely Inspired Text.
In many cases that is understandable, as the Peer pressure is strong in most Disciplines, and, the Bible is distinctly a Work of extraordinary claims, regarding most if not all subjects affecting mankind’s existence!
However; in most lifetimes people experience what can best be described as “Supernatural” events; either real or imagined (small in description in many cases); which leave a sense of uncertainty regarding the origins.
Many people ignore them and carry on as usual; others pursue an explanation; which IMO is in most cases the correct action; which will probably lead to many avenues of search/research!
In many cases when the motivation has been instigated by what some call “Mystical” prodding; the Bible becomes the research Document; which then raises many conflicting thoughts and situations!
If a person’s search becomes primarily focused on the Bible, as opposed to what IMO is considered of “the god of this world” (John 14:30); the Words of 2Tim 3:16–17 can be safely relied upon against all attacks from Academia and alternative religious explanations; including witchcraft!
