God's Power and Planning

Question: Could King Saul have defeated Goliath without David’s help, as described in 1Samuel 17?

Not in my opinion, relative to what the Bible shows!

Goliath IMO was a remainder of the 2nd eruption of Nephilim (Gen. 6:4); and although It would not have been impossible with sufficient numbers of armed men to overpower Goliath; Almighty God in this case wanted to make a show of His methods, and Power, with “men of Faith”; which He did with David and his puny sling and stones etc. (which is a demonstration of God’s battle with Evil and Satan; yet to reach completion inside the “Mystery of Iniquity”)!

This is a lesson for all people of God, for all time; and well represents what Almighty God can do with a willing and trusting servant like David (leaving aside David’s abject failures later with Bathsheba, and God’s remarkable statement; “he is a man after My own heart”)!

Many people object, that God is letting Himself down, by not showing His power in horrible situations on Earth for now 2000 years; however; they have not come to understanding as to why that is so; which they must study and see what has happened to Israel since Acts 28:25–28, when Israel became “Lo-Ammi” by their own behaviour and decision, re. Jesus the Christ as their Messiah!

That position will unravel when Zech.12:10 is happening; which will enable Ezek. 39:21–29, and Matt. 24:36 to be actioned!

Then; the remarkable events shown with David and Goliath will be evidenced regularly!
