Worthy is the Lamb that was Slain

Extracts and comments from Revelation Chps. 5:12(a) & 13 & 14

5.12

Saying with a loud voice, (a)Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive the power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing”.

(a)  This great seven fold ascription (compound praise) to the Lamb, by the innumerable Heavenly host; by the sevenfold character acknowledges the perfection of the Lamb, for the purpose of the seal opening, and adoration due to Him for His faithfulness to the Will of Jehovah God!

5.13

(a)And every created thing which is in Heaven and on the Earth, and under the Earth, and on the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, “Blessing, and honour, and glory, and (b)power for government, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever”.

(a)  This fourfold ascription, from created beings etc., denotes the material creation by the fact of the four ascriptions (Earth's number).

(b)  A notable exclusion in the text from the Greek to the English by the Church of England translators, is "power for government" which is the main point that is about to take place on Earth.  The reason for its omission is due to the fact that the Roman and English Churches, and other groups, are not focused on what is coming, but on the power they hold now, over people and communities.  Heaven and Earth has been awaiting this great, blessed, and momentous even, when man’s rule ends, and Jehovah/Messiah’s rule starts.

All people of goodwill are looking forward to this event eagerly, in similar vein to the angels message and joy when The Baby Jesus was born!

5.14

And the four Zoa said (a)"Amen".

(a)  The "Amen"; of the Zoa, they who are entrusted with the overburden of the physical creation, who support the partition between the throne room and the Earthly events, say this Amen with great emphasis, meaning  (SO BE IT).

The subject of the ‘Worthiness’ of Christ Jesus (The Lamb of God) is of great  importance, to help us to know sufficiently God’s great plan of redemption, which affects both the Heavens and the Earth’s inhabitants!

For example, the occupants of the Heavenlies have seen the most magnificent of God’s created creatures rebel against Him!  See:  Satan's Origins; He, in His great love towards His created creatures, did not destroy the rebel (Lucifer), but gave him scope and freedom within defined limits, to compete against God, His provision, and His love!

That conflict is still in play at this date (2014) and will not end in its present phase until the events prophesied in the Old Testament (OT), and confirmed by Jesus in Matt. 24 and elsewhere are in action in the world.

Christ Jesus is the focus of that conflict, and has been since Lucifer (now called Satan) knew the meaning of Gen. 3:15; “the seed of the woman” as being Christ Jesus!

God Almighty’s record of His dealings with mankind and Satan, are recorded in the Bible and the record is not there to show the progress of mankind since Eden; but the abject failure, and the solution of God in Christ Jesus is pointed to and shown from Gen. 3:15 onwards.

The purpose; to show the inadequacy of humans in the ‘fallen state’; i.e. Satan’s effect on the human soul; and, the foreknowledge of God in the provision of the perfect life of Christ Jesus on Earth against all the assaults of Satan!

This is the whole point of the comment by the Holy Spirit in the statement He made in Revelation 5:12!  “Worthy is the Lamb”!

It is then the reaction to that great “Worthiness” which determines the outcome eternally of Earth’s population, and that of Heavens!

Great people of Scripture, have come to their best endeavours, when they saw and accepted their ‘unworthiness’.

Some of these are:

Jacob, Moses, Job, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Zechariah, Ezekiel, Ruth, Samson, and many others.

It is of great importance and interest, that the great Apostle Paul spoke of some of them in Hebrews 11!  This was because they acted in Faith, (i.e. trusted God) instead of mankind and their corrupted ways.

Who/what were all these people (some know, many unknown) trusting; the Word of God!

That same Word was/is embodied in Jesus the Christ; and that is what is referred to in Rev. 5:12!
