There have been various of men’s attempts when new translations have been made.
I personally found this a frustrating hurdle to cross when my own studies found so many opinions!
For a few years, I struggled on in hope and prayer, and eventually, the golden rule which I adopted was to refer such questions directly to the Lord Himself, and His actual words spoken, and the references He made to the Old and the New Testaments.
It has been argued that is not possible with the Old Testament, as there are so many prophets!
I responded to say that as Jesus is the “Lord of Glory”, and that as Creator and Sustainer of all Creation (and the 2nd person of the Godhead); He is the only source of Truth; which He Himself said (John 14:6).
A further argument was/is that Jesus does not name all the prophets; but the critics went silent when I countered that on the Emmaus Road, He referred to “all the Law and the prophets and the Psalms” (Luke 24:44–45).
