Paul and Romans 6

Question:  What did Paul mean about in Romans 6?

Romans was written in approx. AD 57–58.  As such it was prior to the enactment of the Isa. 6:9–10 prophecy in AD 62–63 approx. See Acts 28:25–28.

What this means is that Israel was not in the “Lo-Ammi” position that ensued after the end of Acts.

Paul was still working to show and convince the Jews that Jesus was their Messiah, and that sin and sinning was covered by His Death and Resurrection to New Life !

That means that all (but particularly the Jews first) could obtain Eternal Life by acceptance of the Gift of God in Christ Jesus!

Paul describes the transition from “slaves to sin”; to “slaves of God”.

That does not mean that the Christian never sins again, both wittingly and unwittingly; but that all is forgiven in Christ Jesus’ Sacrifice; which when the Christian is raised to Life Eternal, their feet are washed clean by the meeting with the Lord at the “Bema” (2Cor.5:10).
