Old Testament Salvation

Question:  How were believers saved in the Old Testament?

Habakkuk 2:4 “The just shall live by faith”.

Old Testament people were saved by their simple trust in Almighty God!

Some, like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, King David etc. had a special relationship with the Holy Spirit of God, but most people trusted in God from their own experiences and observations of Creation; and God knew their hearts!

They like now, were born with “original sin”, but like Job 19:25; “knew that their Redeemer lives”!

A good summary of this is in Hebrews 11; where Paul gives an historic to New Testament view!

Some people refer to this as the “pre-Cross salvation”, as the Christ Jesus Salvation Gift is said to be pre. and post Calvary for people of “faith”.
