Question: What do you believe happened to Jonah after he was swallowed by the great fish? Did he eventually repent or not?
As is easy to see, Jonah Chapter 2 shows the great anguish of Jonah; and in that deep despairing moment, “out of the belly of Sheol I cried”; “Salvation is of the Lord”!
When that is finished; God ordered the “great fish” to release Jonah “onto the dry land”.
This instance is used of the Lord, when He was asked for a “sign”; and He replied; “no other sign that that of Jonah”.
This example is that which the Lord in His human form underwent for all mankind that will see and hear; and is emphasised in His death and Resurrection!
