Jesus and Betrayal

Question:  What does Psalm 55 say about the betrayal of a friend?

It is a clear picture in words of the suffering of Christ Jesus on Earth in His Earthly Walk in faith and trust in His Father, Almighty God.

He had a burden to bear, all the way to the Cross of Calvary, which He did faithfully, and on the Cross stated after 6 hours; “IT IS FINISHED”!

That statement explicitly finalised His bearing of the burden of sin against God, for all people who will see and accept that WONDOROUS gift; who are then seen as sinless before God!

Jesus trusted in His Father’s cover as is shown in v.22.

We know that “His friends” had crucified Him, as is shown by their choice of Barabbas, instead of Jesus before Pilate, which means that “His friends” will have a second chance to accept Him when the events of Zech.12:10 are reached.

Jesus had defined who His friends were in John 15:15 (His Disciples), and they all abandoned Him prior to His Crucifixion; but because of the promise of the Father to ALL Israel, ALL Israel will be Saved when Jesus returns at His Second Advent (Romans 11:25 - 29)!

The pointed question in Zech.13:6 is thus answered, as to who the “friend” is!

For the world, the time between Acts 28:25–28, and Zech.12:10, means that the “great Salvation” won by Jesus on Calvary, is on offer “to all who may” take it in “Faith”; and have “Eternal Life”.
