Question: Did Jacob name his son after an angel or a celestial being in Genesis 32:24?
The verses from Gen. 32:24–28 is a precursor prophecy of Israel’s struggle with God, to the stage when they accept God in Christ Jesus; and their long travail will come to an end!
That point will be reached at the stage of Zech.12:10; which will then be the beginning of their relationship with Almighty God “in spirit and in truth”; and they will become a “Kingdom of Priests unto God”; Exod.19:6; Rev. 1:6; 5:10; 20:6; 1Peter 2:9 and Isa.61:6; 66:21!
