Question: Why is the list of descendants in the Bible (e.g. Genesis 5) without the names of the wives?
It must be remembered that the method of “Salvation” is stated after the sin of Eve, Gen.3:15; “the seed of the woman”!
That Promise was realised in Mary the mother of Jesus; which is the most profound event since the Creation!
Your question IMO is related to space in the Bible accounts of the exploits of women AND men; and the degree of importance they portray. The Bible is already a lengthy account of the exploits and planning of men and women, in God’s Plan; and IMO He wishes to keep the reading and understanding to the minimum of reading exertion, so as to stay with the main points!
It makes no difference that there are long lists of names of men AND women in so much of the Biblical accounts; and we are preserved from the unnecessary energy usage, which allows the serious student to use that time and energy to focus and prayerfully SEE God’s Love and concern for ALL mankind; in the Salvation Work of Christ Jesus!
It has to be remembered as well, that the “Feminist Movement”, which is not without ill -motive, is attempting to have all Bibles as declaring a Feminine God; and the male gender declared neuter!
This can only be seen as Satan at work!
