Question: What is the meaning of Jeremiah 29:4-7?
Almighty God did not want that they be diminished in number, as they were under punishment for 70 years, not annihilation, which Jeremiah had given them in Prophecy; 29:10!
They had been given the duration of their exile (Jer. 29:10), and the lesson to them was that their God keeps His word, as opposed to their infidelity; which they had been warned about in Deuteronomy; but had ignored!
This was their first major punishment, which they should have noted and learned from; but, as is seen in Malachi, they became worse, and after Acts 28:25–28, (Isa. 6:9–10); they were made “Lo-Ammi” (not My people) until the events of Zech. 12:10!
When that stage is reached, the world will be transformed, because Satan will be “bound in the bottomless pit” for 1000 years duration (Rev. 20:1-3)!
