Bible Doctrine

Question: What did Paul mean by “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine” in 2Timothy 4:3?

“Sound doctrine”!  This is critically important now; but always has been!

It is interesting that these words of the great Apostle Paul follow on from 3:16–17, which gives strong assurance that the Bible and the message of Salvation is from Almighty God!

V.3; “for the time will come”; Paul here refers to Vs. 3:1–9, “perilous times”, which many people feel is already with us (including the writers); which will be/is making the Truth of Salvation in Christ Jesus very hard to pronounce and to be heard.

The time we are now living in is probably the foothills of the changeover of “Dispensations”; which Jesus described in Matt. 24, and which He cautioned to all who are present, to “watch”; as only God the Father knows the time of the events yet to be!
